What can the future do for you?
Lift works to identify and anticipate current and emerging usagesof digital technologies through research, events, publications and services.
Matt Webb is a principal of the creative design consultancy Schulze & Webb where his work has included material prototypes for Nokia, Web strategy for the BBC, and exploration into the future uses of RFID. S&W works in near-term product R&D and, as embodied in the USB puppet Availabot, has a special focus on the social life of stuff. Matt speaks on interaction design and technology, is co-author of Mind Hacks, cognitive psychology for a general audience, and if you were to sum up his design interests in one word, it would be “politeness.” He can be found at Interconnected, in London and on his LIFT profile.
Why LIFT?
For Matt , conferences, are about seeing new perspectives and developing languages inside communities and across communities. This isn’t easy online: it happens best face to face, talking formally and informally, making jokes, having coffee, drinking beer and eating cheese, exchanging knowledge - seriously - about work and ideas. He thinks that LIFT gets this balance right. So, he is looking for his serious play in LIFT ‘09 !
