I got the question several times: why did Lift move to May in 2010? Well, it's as simple as some double bookings at our conference center. The CICG is used by a lot of international organizations, several of them meeting once every four years. 2010 is once every four years, and our traditional dates were not available. We had two options: one during the motor show (700'000 visitors = next possibility please!), the other in May, when we ended up moving the conference.

Next year, we are back in early February, with Lift11 set to happen on February 2-4, 2011. Until 2014 we should have no problem keeping the conference in February, or at least we hope :)

In order to avoid the recent problems we had with our conference centers being booked by other events, we are choosing the dates of our next events waaaayyyyyy ahead of time. So if you are a very, very, very farseeing you can already write down the dates for Lift in the coming years:

• Lift Geneva 2011: 10-13 May
• Lift Geneva 2012: 08-11 May
• Lift Geneva 2013: 14-17 May

For logistical reasons we have to reschedule next year's Lift10 in Geneva to May 5-7, 2010. We will take this occasion to completely overhaul our calendar and optimize a few things. Here is how the Lift year will look like starting with either Lift Asia 09, or Lift France 10:

As you see we basically invert Geneva and Marseille, making sure we enjoy a bit more sun in the process. We are busy finalizing our calendar and will announce the final dates of all upcoming events at the end of this week's conference.

For once we have the dates of LIFT09 one year in advance, and we are moving later in the month of February to create a bit more time between DLD, Davos, TED (happening early February in 2009) and LIFT.

Save the dates: LIFT09, 25-26-27 February 2009 in Geneva, Switzerland.

And prepare for a few early announcements as we already confirmed a few speakers who couldn't make it to 2008 but promised to be with us in 2009.
