Speaker Portraits by Renaud Vincent-Roux

Where is the articulation between the background and the figure?

How do we talk about space inside a painting with other means then the usual systematic recourse of perspective and the model?
But also how can we show clearly the background and its limits?
How far can the background go till it reaches the foreground?
Can the background become the foreground? And reciprocally what are its motives?
Where does the background position itself in the space of the painting? Is it definitive? Is it full? Is it empty?

These questions reflect the basis of artist Renaud Vincent-Roux's paintings and create their imagery, for several years now in the city of Marseille where he lives and works in his studio in the Endoume neighborhood.

Come see his paintings in the Lift Experience of the Lift France 09 Speakers!
