Otis Gray currently serves as the Director of Latin Music for the Booker T. Washington High School for the Performance and Visual Arts in Dallas, Tx. Otis attended Southern Methodist University, receiving his Bachelor of Music Performance and Bachelor of Music Education. He has taught at the "ARTS" Magnet High School for 15 years. Recently, Otis founded the Dallas Latin Youth Orchestra to offer students from various high schools and colleges the opportunity to perform Latin Jazz and Afro-Caribbean music at a high level. In 2006, Otis was the only school teacher amongst four educators from across the country to be recognized at the national conference of the League of United Latin American Citizens for their contributions to the Hispanic community. The Texas Rangers Professional Baseball Club recognized Otis as a "Hero in the Community". His students have performed in every major city in Texas, as well as New York City, Orlando Florida, San Juan Puerto Rico, San Francisco and San Jose California.
