Owner of a degree in computer science, I am currently a second year student at the Cognitics Institute (IdC) in Bordeaux to become an engineer specialized in cognitive sciences applications (“cognitics engineer”). Since cognitics are quite a new study field, here are some details on my school. IdC is a fairly recent engineering department which develops Theories and Methods descended from Cognitive Sciences: Cognitive Psychology, Artificial Intelligence, Neurosciences... I also study the ways such subjects could be used in concrete applications: interface design, human centered conception, ergonomics, knowledge management… Finally, I received a classic engineer education: maths, project management, systemic, computer science. I am personally involved in promoting cognitics. I believe that this new study field will lead to a better integration of human factors in numerous areas. As the “CEO” of a small student company that provides consulting services related to « Cognitique » (I2C), I can say that cognitics matches with a real demand from industry, health and research. During my career, I seek to work in Computer Human Interaction, and to design tools and devices that allow the development of collective intelligence in human organization.
