Lift works to identify and anticipate current and emerging usagesof digital technologies through research, events, publications and services.

Christian Heller, born in 1984, lives in Berlin, Germany. From 2004 to 2007 he studied Philosophy and Film Studies at the Freie Universität Berlin, but dropped off to pursue his interests in futurology, transhumanism and internet culture. He has been involved with the creation of the coworking network Hallenprojekt.de and the open source hardware hacking venture Bausteln.de. He worked as a film critic for online magazines like critic.de and fudder.de. As a speaker at various hacker and new media conferences he has talked about post-privacy optimism, the transformation of personal and political identity patterns in the digital age, post-mortem online identities and the changes of futuristic visions through the ages. Currently he's experimenting with uploading and open-sourcing his mind into various online platforms.
