Bio

Hello! My name is Amy Baker and I am originally from Toronto, Ontario, Canada. I did my undergraduate bachelors at McMaster University in 'Multimedia' and 'Cultural Studies & Critical Theory' and now I am doing a Masters of Journalism through the Erasmus Mundus Masters programme: http://mundusjournalism.com/.

My hobbies include writing, new media, music, art, photography, literature and traveling. I have traveled extensively throughout Europe, Asia, Africa and the America's and I am always on the hunt for the next epic adventure. I am a freelance writer, to supplement my academics and currently write for the travel website Vagabondish. I have also written for The Globe and Mail, Canada's national newspaper and Where Toronto, a magazine for tourists visiting the city. For my 4th year undergraduate thesis at McMaster University, I delved into the issues behind privacy, social networking and online self-representation with three documentaries and an essay found here: http://facingfb.com/

I am currently living in Copenhagen, Denmark but will be living in Amsterdam as of February 1st until June 30th and then commencing classes in Swansea, Wales on October 1st, 2010. I am interested in finding a work placement/internship for the summer (July, August, September) and am willing to get my hands dirty in anything related to new media, social networking and interconnectivity!

Interests: photography, writing, photojournalism, literature, film, indie music, contemporary art, traveling, new media and social networking.
