Alain Ries has teamed with IRIS Capital (formerly Part’Com Management) early 2002. As a Venture Partner, Alain brings his entrepreneurial experience to the evaluation and operational follow-up of portfolio companies in the IT and Communications sectors across Europe. IRIS Capital is a Paris-based fund that invests in the Media, IT and Telecommunications sectors across Europe.
Prior to joining IRIS Capital, Alain was Founder & President of InfoVista SA, a French company that sells SLA and performance measurement software for Telecom operators. He brought the company public on both Nasdaq and Nouveau Marché in July 2000. InfoVista had annual revenues close to 30m€ and more than 230 employees, with subsidiaries in the USA, UK, Germany and Singapore. He previously co-founded Arche Communications in 1991, now the largest French networking VAR that was acquired by Siemens in 1995 and recently by Telindus. He also founded Institut ERIS in 1994, a Cisco products training company that was acquired in 1998 by Global Knowledge Network, Inc. Prior to that, he worked for 3Com Southern Europe as head of pre-sales.
Alain is a graduate of the Ecole Centrale de Paris (87) and got an MBA from Sorbonne University in Paris (95).
