Kyle Gustafson is trained as a theoretical physicist specializing in biological processes, plasma turbulence and stochastic numerical methods. He was a Fellow of the Fannie and John Hertz Foundation during his PhD and then received a US NSF International Research Fellowship to move to Lausanne in 2010. He is now a member of Felix Naef's computational systems biology lab at EPFL. He is also a founding member of The Catalyst Theater collective (www.thecatalyst.ch) in Lausanne. The Axion project was conceived at CERN during the Tribeca Hacks Story Matter hackathon in March 2014. Axion is an immersive, interactive experience designed to stimulate a contemplation of dark matter and dark energy from the perspective of a diverse group of physicists.
