Kyle Gustafson

Postdoctoral Research Associate at EPFL

Kyle Gustafson is trained as a theoretical physicist specializing in biological processes, plasma turbulence and stochastic numerical methods. He was a Fellow of the Fannie and John Hertz Foundation during his PhD and then received a US NSF International Research Fellowship to move to Lausanne in 2010. He is now a member of Felix Naef's computational systems biology lab at EPFL. He is also a founding member of The Catalyst Theater collective ( in Lausanne. The Axion project was conceived at CERN during the Tribeca Hacks Story Matter hackathon in March 2014. Axion is an immersive, interactive experience designed to stimulate a contemplation of dark matter and dark energy from the perspective of a diverse group of physicists.
