Lift works to identify and anticipate current and emerging usagesof digital technologies through research, events, publications and services.
Conscious of their role promoting digital innovation and development in Switzerland, the Multimedia Pact partners – SRG SSR idée suisse, the Secretary of State for Education and Research (SER), the Federal Office of Training and Technology (OFFT), and the Swiss Conference of Cantonal Directors of Public Education (CDIP) – hope to accompany the progress of the country in these sectors and to encourage scientific research and training in new information technologies. They have founded the
Multimedia Pact, which has two major axes:
An internet portal in four languages, www.pactemultimedia.ch, bringing together and organizing the SRG SSR idée suisse multimedia topics. It offers internet users a reliable reference dedicated to issues relating to digital development in our society, to the development of new information technologies, and to the consequences of both of these. It offers a kind of “survival guide for the digital world.”
An annual competition calling on creativity to explore the new multimedia fields at the intersection of traditional radio-television production and the digital universe. The projects presented should imagine content, applications, or new formats, or indicate as-yet-unexplored ways of accessing existing content, taking advantage of new information technologies and innovative trends in multimedia consumption. An annual competition, it bestows a prize to encourage realization of up to 50,000CHF.
