Creates immersive universes through motion capture and virtual reality for science, entertainment and art

Caecilia obtained a Master of Advanced Studies in Computer Graphics at EPFL and a PhD in Computer Science at MIRALab at the University of Geneva. She is the co-founder and current President and Research Director of Artanim. She is also lecturer in biomechanics and 3D imaging at the Faculty of Medicine, University of Geneva.

Her work focuses on the interdisciplinary use of motion capture for applications ranging from 3D animation, virtual reality, live performances to movement science, orthopedics, and sports medicine. The results of her research have been published in more than fifty international journals and conferences.

Caecilia has been awarded the 2009 Walthard Prize from the University of Geneva, as well as four international prizes and awards in the field of computer-assisted surgery and sport medicine, including the 2009 Eurographics Medical 1st Prize. Her work on virtual reality was also selected as finalist of the Immersive Realities (VR/AR) contest at SIGGRAPH 2015 as well as Sundance Festival New Frontier in 2016.
