Part of the Session NEAR FUTURES
In this open stage presentation, Tom Bieling will describe how he designs new communication interfaces based on observing a very specific type of users: people with visual disabilities. He will show how his propositions can be adapted to this very public and how it can go beyond blind people to help us think about new kinds of interfaces that he would have never created unless he had paid attention to the specific needs of this target group.

Very interesting / I'd like to stay in touch as I work most of my time on large events like the Olympic and Paralympic Games where accessibility, inclusion, universal design , ... are becoming more and more important. I work both on current events and future events, the latter when working for Bid Committee (e.g. I currently work for a Bid Committee aiming at hosting the Games in 2020) hence my interest in the mid-term / long-term options.
