Novel interfaces combining virtual reality and brain imaging techniques into portable, interactive systems can redefine the current solutions for patients post a stroke and brain injury. The technology enables independent training, making it extremely effective for both hospital and home rehabilitation. The amalgam facilitates objective monitoring of their performance and snapshots decoding real time brain activity during training in virtual environments make it possible for the solution to be a part of the treatment process right from day1 covering both diagnostic and therapeutic aspects. The technology can be further harnessed for immersive gaming experiences by tapping into the user's neural patterns to customize and design 3d virtual reality games to the individual's abilities and choices.
