Leapfrogging Facebook: Why we should and how we can.

The theme of the conference is: "Connected People". We argue that the way people are connected in the future (ie: digital communications) is far too important to leave to the control of a single company - or a handful of companies.

Industry analysts and experts – all the way up to Tim Berners-Lee have demanded that ‘open social networks must happen’, however, while there is a lot of great work being done towards this goal - there has not yet been a clear path to fully realising this vision. The workshop proposes a credible win-win future communications ecosystem - where society, business & governments would benefit.

The project is currently being spun out of Swisscom and into a not-for-profit entity. Please get in touch if you are interested in participating.
