Walk and talk: a gyrovague & poetic observation workshop

Location: Hotel de Région (27 Place Jules Guesde, Bâtiment Rotonde, map)

Around core technologies developped by our laboratory (Bell Labs), we propose an itinerant ethnographic experience in order to capture and share specific urban situations from Marseille.

The workshop will investigate how advanced telecommunication infrastructures resonate with socio-material situations captured during a field trip in Marseille city. A variety of technologies such as immersion plateforms, smart access points, internet of things will be examined and presented.

The participants will be ask to form groups around specific technologies and go throughout the city in order to capture remarkable objects or scene that they associate with their theme. At the end of the day, all groups will present their observations and their related concepts. A website gathering these observations and ideas will be created at the end of the workshop
