If you are visiting this page it means you are very very probably participating in Lift France 11, so first thank you for coming! Every year we welcome around 700 persons coming from all over the world, and the following information is here to make your trip and stay as enjoyable as possible. From France, Europe or overseas, you should be able to find low cost tickets as well as regular companies from many cities around the world to Marseille Provence International Airport. Check the airport’s page for a complete schedule of flights going to/leaving from Marseille.
The Airport shuttle will take you to the City Center Train Station (Gare de Marseille Saint-Charles) in 25 min. Shuttle every 20 minutes. Cost : 8,50€. You can buy your ticket on line.
From France: You should also try TGV (book your trip with the SNCF).
Without any commission, we offer several recommendations at the following hotels :

We highly recommend you to take time to discover the city and around.
♥ Historical: Discover the old quarter of the city “Le Panier” (means the Basket), or climb the hill to Notre-Dame de la Garde, the major church dedicated to the Virgin who protect Sailors and Fish Men (interesting ex-voto)
♥ Contemporary Architecture: Visit one of the most important building of the great architect le Corbusier, Unité d’Habitation Le Corbusier, la Cité radieuse.
♥ Literature: remember your childhood when you were a great fan of Alexander Dumas’ The Count of Monte Christo ? Take the regular boat line to visit Chateau d’If, Marseille’s Alcatraz.
♥ Sea and sun: Marseille has great beaches. You enjoy wild life? Take the boat to the Frioul Islands or have a nice walk on the cliffs, ”Les calanques”.

And at 30 min drive from Marseille:
You can use Marseille's very efficient metro system which runs between 6 am and 9 pm.
The single journey ticket cost 1.60 €. You can also purchase one-day (4.50€ ) or three-day (10€) travel card in every station.
From the Saint-Charles railway station, take Line 1 Direction La Rose- La Timone for two stations (Vieux port). Then, you can take a 15 min walk to the Palais du Pharo or take the bus n° 83 (direction Rond-Point du Prado) to the station Pharo.

The minimum fare for a Marseille taxi is 5,50 € which charges at 1,90 € a kilometer.
