Lift France 10 Open Program

At Lift a big part of the program is managed by the attendees. You make the propositions, the community votes, and the most successful propositions are inserted in the program. This is called the open program and consists of 3 different formats for Lift France: Workshops, Open Stage and Show Box.

Workshops

Explore a topic in detail in a two-hours workshop where you engage people in an activity (brainstorm, discussion, platform, simulation, short walk). Past workshops included "Civil Rights 2.0", "Balkan blogging", "Where is the Future Hiding?" and "Why we (still) need Art in a media rich environment". During Lift France 10, a limited amount of 2-hour slots is available for workshops on Monday July 7 afternoon.

Please send us your proposals here (Submission deadline is June 18!)

The rules are the following:

  • Everyone who attends Lift France 10 can hand in a proposal
  • Please understand that we are not looking for commercial pitches or business presentations
  • The point of a workshop is to be active and engage people in a participative activity. It's not a 2-hours lecture!
  • The Lift team will select the 4 speakers and announce them around June 20

Open Stage

Lift's open stage is made up of presentations that are proposed and delivered by the Lift community on the main stage. There are 4 open slots for participants who are willing to share their disruptive idea on how the web could change the real world. When looking at the program, do you feel something key is missing, that you could address? Do you have a vision, a project, an experience, that would make a huge difference? We're looking for unorthodox, surprising, dangerous ideas, backed up by examples, scenarios, prototypes or actual realizations.

Please send us your proposal at openstage [at] liftconference [dot] com (Submission deadline is June 15!)

The rules are the following: We provide a framework for the open stage because we believe that focus breeds creativity. Here we go:

  • Everyone who attends Lift France 10 can hand in a proposal
  • Please understand that we are not looking for commercial pitches or business presentations
  • Speakers may use keynote/powerpoint or video (or just themselves)
  • If a keynote/powerpoint deck is used it should have 10 slides, 30 sec each. no clicker
  • The duration of the talks is strictly 5 minutes
  • Your proposal does not need to be the final presentation but should contain enough copy and visuals to transport your idea
  • We encourage you to bring in your own personality and make the proposal as documentary, observational and authentic as possible
  • You may include real objects to support your idea
  • The Lift team will select the 4 speakers and announce them around June 20
  • All finalists will meet during a short workshop on Monday morning or afternoon (July 5th) to get to know each other and to do a quick rehearsal of the presentations

Show Box

Show Box is a small stage located in the Lift Experience break area dedicated to connecting and networking between participants. Open Box offers all participants the opportunity to present their project, passion make a performance or share an idea with participants. We'll provide you with a beamer/sound system and you would be able to bring your presentation on an USB stick.

There are slots between 5 and 20 minutes available during morning and afternoon breaks.

Take your chance, send us your suggestion at showbox [at] liftconference [dot] com (Submission deadline is June 21!) by indicating the following elements:

  • Presentation title and short description
  • Desired presentation time (between 5 and 20 minutes)
  • Preferred slot (Morning- or afternoon break on July 6th or 7th)

We are looking forward to hear from you :)
