How to get to Jeju
The beautiful Island Jeju is located in the center of Northeast Asia and lies equidistant between South Korea, China and Japan.
Jeju Island is only
- a 1-hour flight away from Seoul
- a 1.5-hours flight away from Shanghai
- a 2.5-hours flight from Tokyo
From Seoul Gimpo-Airport there are variety of flights per hour flying to Jeju. The following airlines operate flights from Seoul Gimpo-Airport, Shanghai and Tokyo to Jeju:
- Korean Air Lines
- Asiana
- Jeju Air (budget airline)
Moreover, a unique immigration policy is applied in Jeju. Chinese tourists, including individual tourists, can go to Jeju for up to 30 days without a visa.
How to get to Gimpo-Airport from Incheon-Airport
There are shuttle buses and the Airport Railroad Express Train connecting Seoul-Incheon and Seoul-Gimpo Airport. In Jeju there will also be shuttle buses carrying you conveniently from the airport to your hotel and the conference center.
To come from Seoul you will have to book a flight (180$) and hotel nights. Depending on the level of comfort you want here are the prices you should be paying:
Flight + 2 nights in 5 stars hotel (Hyatt): 180$ + 160$x2 = 500$
Flight + 2 nights in 5 stars hotel (Shilla): 180$ + 200$x2 = 580$
Flight + 2 nights in 3 stars hotel (Hana): 180$ + 80$x2 = 340$
Jeju International airport has a total of 17 direct airlines, which link major cities. There are several flights a day from Seoul. There are several weekly flights from internationl citiies to Jeju: 6 times from Tokyo, 4 times from Osaka, 2 times from Beijing, and 3 times from Hong Kong.
Important: if you come from another country than Korea you should book your flight in two different steps. Calculating a price from Geneva or New York directly to Jeju will give you ridiculous prices (something like 3'000$) while booking your trip to seoul (should be between 1200 and 1500$) then your flight to Jeju (150-200$) will cost the real price, i.e. much less.

The weather in September in Jeju Island is usually pretty warm, around 25° Celsius during the day, and perfectly suited still to swim in the sea and spend the evenings outside enjoying for example Korean Barbecue.
Jeju is a mythic island offering many attractions such as beaches, volcanos, the highest mountain in Korea (Halla Mountain), waterfalls and a beautiful vegetation. Stay a little longer in Jeju if you can and discover the island.
Seoul of course is always worth a visit, too! For the gadget geeks among you, you should definite visit Yongsan Electronics Market, with over 20 buildings housing 5,000 stores offering computers and peripherals, mobiles, lighting equipment, software, videos and games..
