The Green Watch

Presentation type:
Demo

The aim of the "Green Watch" project is to multiply by 1,000 the number of environmental sensors in the city, while encouraging people’s implication in measuring environmental indices.

The green watch comprizes a watch with two environmental sensors (ozone, noise). Data are regularly broadcasted via a mobile phone to an open platform which receives, stores and makes (anonymized) data available. Data can then be used freely in order to be shown on maps, used in models, etc..

30 prototypes of the green watch were tested during the Futur en Seine event in Paris in June, 2009, with the help of Region Ile de France. We will present the project, the results of the initial experimentations and possible future development in co-operation with other, related projects in Europe.
